Alex Hammond (writer) joins The Fleming Agency

The Fleming Agency is delighted to announce new client Alex Hammond. Critically acclaimed writer and novelist Alex’s debut novel Blood Witness (Penguin Books Australia) was selected as State Library of Victoria Summer Read 2014 and is under option with Werner Film and TV Productions. His short film Piñata was nominated for an AFI Award and won Best Animation at the Vancouver Animation Festival. Currently writing his second novel, Dark Legacy (currently due for publication in July 2015), Alex is co-writing a project with director Ben Chessell which is also under option with Werner Film and TV Productions.

Pre-Production commences on The Devils Candy

Pre-Production has begun in Austin, Texas on The Devils Candy, the upcoming feature film written and directed by Sean Byrne who is joined by cinematographer Simon Chapman ACS. Producers are Chris Harding, Jessica Wu and Keith Calder for Snoot Entertainment.

Production begins on Sucker

Production has begun on Sucker, the debut feature film directed by Ben Chessell and co-written by Ben and Lawrence Leung. Shooting in Melbourne, the film stars John Luc and Lily Sullivan alongside Timothy Spall.BC Sucker

Multiple projects for Shaun Grant

Shaun-Grant-profileShaun Grant is currently writing multiple projects; Gallipoli (Matchbox/Full Clip Productions – Foxtel), Jasper Jones (Porchlight Films), Berlin Syndrome (Aquarius Films) and a feature for See-Saw Films.

Shaun Grant’s chilling debut feature film, Snowtown was released in 2011 and saw him win the AACTA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2012. Produced by Anna McLeish and Sarah Shaw, Snowtown was Warp Film Australia’s first feature release and has established Shaun as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging screenwriters. Screening at the BigPond Adelaide Film Festival, it won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film, and the AWGIE for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Shaun is a Melbourne based writer and graduate from RMIT with an Advanced Diploma in Creative Screenwriting. Shaun was one of four writers who wrote and developed the Drama Series Killing Time, which premiered on the FOXTEL network and screened again on the Seven Network.  In 2010 Shaun won the Greg Teppar Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Victorian Screen Industry.
