Alexei Mizin is one half of an award-winning screenwriting team along with Ryan van Dijk. He is currently in development on The Rich Man’s House with Fremantle Media and and untitled project with Route 24 in the UK.
In 2018, Alexei, his writing partner Ryan and TFA sold IP to Apple and soon after, became attached to a number of projects in development including; a scifi drama with Animal Logic/Truant, an adaptation with Apple and a development deal with the AMC Network in the USA. More recently, Alexei has been working with See Saw Film and AMC on a new series with his co-writing partner, Ryan.
Alexei graduated from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts with a Master of Film and Television where he was the recipient of numerous honours. His music videos and shorts films have screened worldwide and earned distinction for writing and direction.
Alexei’s first screenplay Vanished won the Monte Miller Award at the 47th Annual AWGIE Awards. It has since been supported by Screen Australia and ScreenNSW. Alexei’s other film and television projects have been finalists and winners in a range of competitions. He is a four-time member of the AWG’s Pathways Program and has completed numerous initiatives with the backing of FilmVictoria, where he is a member of their Emerging Talent Register. Alexei’s recent work includes Meridian, a science fiction series supported by Scripted Ink and mentored by AACTA-winning Victoria Madden.
When not writing, Alexei has worked alongside writer/directors Stuart Beattie on I, Frankenstein, Julius Avery on Son of a Gun, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on Gods of Egypt, with further production credits on HBO’s The Leftovers, Hacksaw Ridge and Top Of The Lake.
