Sean hails from Hobart, Tasmania. He burst onto the scene with ADVANTAGE, a horror short which had its international premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and picked up multiple awards on the festival circuit.  THE LOVED ONES, his feature debut, achieved official selection at over twenty international film festivals, winning the People’s Choice Award, Midnight Madness Category, Toronto International Film Festival; the Siren Award for Best International Feature, Lund International Film Festival; and the Jury Prize at Gérardmer International Film Festival. It’s 98% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the highest rated horror films in history.

He followed up with THE DEVIL’S CANDY, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival; was nominated for Best Motion Picture at the Sitges International Film Festival; awarded the Prix du Public (Audience Award) at the Gérardmer International Film Festival; and Best Independent Horror at the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards. It’s 93% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sean has several projects in active development with Steven Schneider (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, INSIDIOUS, SPLIT); XYZ and Rumble Films (MANDY, WHIPLASH, DRIVE, NIGHTCRAWLER); and Kristian Moliere (THE BABADOOK). He’s currently directing DANGEROUS ANIMALS for LD Entertainment, Range Media Partners, Oddfellow Entertainment, and Brouhaha Entertainment, shooting in Queensland.
